The second most popular men’s wallet is the money-clip.

High-Quality Materials and Construction (Genuine Leather vs Full-Grain)
The first area you should look for in a top wallet is the type of leather used in the construction. Imagine for a second you’re reading a product description for a wallet and then it mentions that the wallet is made from “Genuine Leather”.
Great right?
Not really…
Genuine leather, despite its name, is actually the lowest quality leather a company can use. Essentially, it is a bunch of pieces of leather bonded and glued together and then painted to make it “look” better than it actually is. Often malls and local shops will have this leather in belts and shoes.
Instead…
Opt for top-grain or full-grain leather in the leather products you’re about to buy.
RFID/NFC and Other Wallet Features
When you’re shopping for a wallet you’ll also likely come across all the bells and whistles, but which ones actually matter and which ones are a waste of time?
Well…
If you’re in the market for a new wallet then you’ll probably come across radio-frequency identification or RFID protection, which helps prevent bad guys from stealing your credit card information. This is a relatively new feature that seems to be included in just about all new wallets these days, which is great but there are some questions regarding its usefulness seeing as how most credit cards use the EMV-chip technology.
Here is another quick list of popular features to look out for with your new wallet:

There really is no end to the amount of features you could bolt onto a wallet. Our opinion is the more simple the wallet, the better.
Aside from the RFID protection, everything else just feels silly. I mean carrying around a Swiss army knife inside your wallet feels a bit excessive doesn’t it?

Saddleback prides themselves on making good quality products, and this wallet is no different.
Each wallet is made from 100% full-grain boot leather, which is the best leather you can get for a mens wallet.
The medium bifold comes in a simple but functional design with 6 slots for cards and 2 hidden slots as well as a typical cash compartment.

Another cool feature is the fact that Saddleback added an RFID protector within the wallet to help protect you from identity fraud. Again, it feels like most wallet makers are starting to add the RFID protection so it’s good to see Saddleback following suit.

- Due to the wallet’s thickness it can potentially break or crack your credit card if you sit on your wallet for long periods
Have you ever tried a front pocket wallet? No, well you should (at least in my opinion).
The Rogue Wallet front pocket wallet is something I first came across about 3ish years ago. I was given it as a gift and still use it to this day.
It's a bifold wallet with space with 3 compartments for credit cards, a bill fold, and a spot for your drivers license.
Honestly, I'm not much of a wallet guy keeping a few credit cards, my drivers license, and my insurance card in my wallet. For people like me, this wallet is perfect.

It has the standard RFID protection and comes in a variety of colors. The one I picked up was actually moose leather! Something also worth mentioning is that it decreases the unsightly bulge in your back pockets you'd expect with traditional wallets.

- Made with quality durable leather.
- Fits seamlessly inside your front pocket keeping your back pockets free from any excess bulge
- More affordable than other premium brands
Cons
- Isn't a "normal" wallet, which might make more conservative and/or formal folks shy away from its design
The Bellroy is another bifold wallet with the perfect blend between minimalist slim wallet and a high-capacity capability.
The Bellroy is another wallet made from top-grain leather (similar to the Rogue). Not so similar to the Rogue is this wallet has capability of holding 8 cards and cash bills. As a reminder, the Rogue could only hold 3 cards with a slot for you picture ID.
We like this wallet becuase it is made with quality materials and is great for the guy who likes to put a lot of stuff (old receipts, Costco cards, etc) in his wallet.
Unlike the two previous products, the Bellroy doesn’t sport the RFID protection, which may or may not matter to you but we thought it was worth pointing out.

- High carrying capacity with space for 8 cards and cash bills
- Made with high-quality top-grain leather
Cons
- Since this wallet is trying to be slim it can get a little cramped inside the wallet making it hard to get your cards in and out
As an alternative to the typical bifold wallet or money clip, you have the Dango Dapper EDC wallet. This wallet has an extremely slim profile and is made with leather AND aluminum.
This wallet is a better fit for someone who wants to try something a little different. Honestly, the old bifold wallet could get a little boring, which is why you might turn to the Dango.

This wallet is capable of holding an astounding 12 cards and is made with top-grain leather (similar to the previous wallets) but it also uses aluminum for a different look and feel. Dango did also add in the RFID blocking.
What’s funny is that this is a slightly toned down version of the Dango wallet. They do have a version with a multi Swiss army knife type tool, which is about $20 more bucks. Honestly, the tool is kinda gimmicky so we recommend going with this one.
Pros
- Extremely low profile design
- RFID technology
- Has the “cool” factor with its unique design
Cons
- Claims to hold 12 cards but can only hold 8 comfortably
- There’s no way to fan out the cards so you’ll have to thumb through or lift each when you want to get to a card
The last wallet on our list is the tried and true, money clip. We looked at a number of different money clip wallets and this one caught our eye.
For the money, you simply can’t beat the MUTBAK. For about half of what other wallets cost, you get a full-grain, RFID/NFC blocking, super slim, built to last wallet. Due to its size, you can stick this wallet comfortably in your front pocket with no issues at all.
Something we also found is that travelers LOVE this wallet. Its simple yet high-quality construction is perfect for an on-the-go lifestyle. We highly recommend grabbing one of these if you’re that kind of guy.

Without a doubt our favorite men’s wallet is Saddleback’s Bifold.
